McDonald's Filet-O-Fish Sandwich: Celebrating a Classic

McDonald's Filet-O-Fish was invented in 1962 and became available nationwide in 1965. It was McDonald's first ever entree that didn't use hamburger meat. To this day it is America's favorite fish sandwich and the classic has remained relatively unchanged throughout the years: a fried fish fillet is nestled between smooth American cheese and tangy tartar sauce, all inside a chewy, soft steamed bun. Today, the sandwich is made of pollock responsibly caught using sustainable fishing.

Try a Filet-O-Fish next time you're in the mood for a quintessentially American meal!
