Tea & Sympathy NYC: British Goodies in New York

Snaxtime recently had tea with a lady friend at Tea & Sympathy in New York City's Greenwich Village. Tea & Sympathy offers a full menu of quintessential English treats. Whether you are in the mood for a full meal, a light snack or some tea time munchies, this is the ideal spot to satiate your British cravings.

We started with some rose petal tea with sugar and milk. The tea was aromatic and floral and tasted just like sweet, creamy rose petals. Yum! Our friend enjoyed some apricot tea which was equally as soothing and delicious. We shared a selection of finger sandwiches to go with our tea. The dainty sandwiches with the crusts cut off were filled with egg salad, chicken salad and tuna salad. All three salad varieties were flavorful and rich and the bread was fresh, tasty and dense.

We then tried some Victoria sponge cake and sticky toffee pudding with hot custard. The sponge cake was light, buttery and fluffy and filled with the perfect amount of sweet jam and smooth cream. The sticky toffee pudding was lavish with a nice spiced caramel flavor which was complimented beautifully by the piping hot creamy sweet vanilla custard.

Next time you're in the city and looking for an intimate, elegant and delectable spot to have a date with a good friend, seek out Tea & Sympathy. It's Queen approved!
