Check out this wacky minivan kit from 1979 manufactured by Elite Enterprises Incorporated. Apparently the kit gives you "everything you need to transform an old VW into a shining new Laser 49er." We're a bit perplexed by the concept of a mail-order car kit, but we dig the unusual design of this funky minivan with "gull-wing style doors" that make it look like a vehicle from a retro-future sci-fi movie!
According to auto historian Alden Jewell, "This minivan preceded Chrysler's by about 5 years, but only 29 or 30 of these kits were allegedly sold, and few exist."
