Since 1975, El Compadre has thrilled patrons with their fired-up drinks and tasty Mexican fare at two different locations in Hollywood and Echo Park. El Compadre is most well known for their "Flaming Margaritas," but their throwback decor and authentic dishes are also legendary.
We started with their punchy house "Flaming Margarita" and guacamole alongside the complimentary chips and salsa. For the main course, we tried the "Enchiladas De Mole" with a beef tamale on the side. The mole was dreamy, rich and sweet and the tamale was savory and creamy in a zesty tomatillo sauce.
El Compadre is a must go-to spot when visiting the LA area.
