Jif Whips Creamy Whipped Peanut Butter

When we first saw the commercial for Jif Whips Creamy Whipped Peanut Butter, we thought the new product was going to be more like a sweet candy dip, something like the peanut butter stripe in a jar of Goober. This is probably because we had seen that it comes in flavors like Chocolate, S'mores, Maple Brown Sugar and Pumpkin Pie Spice. We looked in several stores and couldn't find it, but finally this week we found a tub of the plain Peanut Butter flavor. We immediately grabbed it alongside a box of gingerbread men and ran home to try it.

We should have known better. Jif Whips tasted great, but it was just light, whipped peanut butter. It wasn't any more sweet than regular peanut butter and the only difference was the texture. It did taste good on the cookie and we enjoyed the extra creamy, fluffy feel, but we were left wanting something a little sweeter. We do think, however, that this would be the perfect peanut butter spread for a fluffernutter sandwich, or any peanut butter sandwich for that matter. The plain Jif Whips flavor is brilliant for Jif, actually, because all they are doing is adding air and expanding their original product which means more dollars for the same peanut butter.

If we end up trying the flavored varieties, we'll give an update.
