McDonald's Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich

We were sad to see McDonald's remove their delicious Southern Style Crispy Chicken Sandwich from the menu, but they may have made up for it with their new Southern inspired Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Deluxe Sandwich. For this new product, McDonald's fries up 100% real chicken breast meat in a savory buttermilk batter. The bird is then topped with thick sliced tomato, leafy lettuce and a generous slathering of zippy mayonnaise. The sandwich is served on a toasted artisan roll.

We absolutely loved this new menu item and the term "Deluxe" is indeed appropriate! The buttermilk breaded chicken was moist, perfectly crisp and packed with peppery flavor. The simple additions of fresh tomato, lettuce and mayo were the ideal accompaniments and everything tasted wonderful on the slightly sweet, soft, bakery-fresh roll. This new product isn't similar to the retired Southern Style Crispy Chicken and it is substantially more expensive and calorific. Our sandwich was $5.22 after tax and around 600 calories. But overall, McDonald's Buttermilk Crispy Chicken Deluxe is a very well crafted, darn good sandwich and we would definitely order it again.
