First Fridays on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice Beach features a smorgasbord of food trucks that are hard to choose from. From mac and cheese to Korean BBQ, cupcakes to Argentinian fries, the choice is yours as to what delectable vittles you want to munch on. We tried the "Chili Frito Pie" from Texas Chili Pie Co. and a "Pork Belly Bun" from the Flying Pig Truck. The Frito pie with beef chili, nacho cheese, sour cream and scallions over a flour tortilla was perfect munchies fodder and the pork belly with red onion escabeche, pickled sesame cucumber and "death sauce" on a steamed bao bun was pleasantly loaded with varying flavors and textures.
With tons of bars in the area, First Fridays is the perfect spot to plan a casual night of dinner and drinks with friends.
